From Stangers to Family

For many missions trips the hardest thing to overcome isn’t always the culture, elements, government officials and customs, or the people that your ministering to but the people that you work with, your team. God Has blessed us so much in how well our team was able to come together in unity for the glory of God. For me our team was one of the biggest blessings on the trip. Every one was constantly there for eachother. Checking up on eachother when one of us wasn’t feeling well, to have someone to talk to and pray with when challenges and frustrations arised, to be an encouragement to eachother through out tiring days, to lift eachother in prayer every night at our team meetning. It is so clear that God has hand picked this team for the work that He called us to in Ufa. God was able to use the friendship that we have for each other on the team to be an example to our Russian brothers and sisters. It shocked and amazed me at how much of an example we were to the Russian workers. So many of the kids and Russian workers commented of how cool it was to see a group of people care for each other in brotherly love. It was amazing to see how our example changed the dynamic of leadership in the time that we had at the camp. So many of the Russian leaders began to take initiative in leading their groups and not let the kids goof off when they’re supposed to be paying attention. God was able to use even the smallest of things for His Glory. When we first arived at the camp and the kids showed up, none of us on the team knew exactly how it would be working with the Russians and in many wasys it was intimidating. But in the hands of our God anything is possible. All of us, Americans and Russians, were so blessed in the fellowship that we had with each other.
