Back from Russia and already missing it…..
Jul 18th, 2007 by Betty Andronie
Thank you all so much for all your prayers, love and support during our journey in Russia!
We could have not done it without the support from our family and church body back at home!
God did so many marvelous things and taught each one of us on the team so much! We made great lasting friendships with our Russian brothers and sisters and fell in love with the children in Ufa, Bashkortistan.
Altough the journey was difficult at times through spiritual attack before the trip, sickness, and condtions of the camp such as no electricity nor running water, unpredictable weather, disobedient children and massive flesh eating bugs, it was the greatest camp I have ever been to. There is something unique and beautiful about the Russian children, family and culture there. I miss it terribly and want to be there now. It felt like home in a new way with family I never knew I had.
God certainly stretched each one of us in great ways, and the struggles only grew our unity within our team and with our Russian brothers and sisters. Not only was this trip a sucess and a wonderful experience, the Lord truley allowed us to become servants and allowed us to spread His gospel to His beautiful chidlren. I was blown away to see drastic changes in the lives of some students and how receptive they were to the gospel. There are so many stories to share and words that cannot express how amazing the trip went. I could not have been more blessed with a greater team and with greater staff in Russia. I was honored to work alongside Natasha and see her huge heart, unconditional love and passion for these children. I was encouraged by her and and her husband Victor and strive to have a heart for the lost like her own.
Please be in prayer for the next few weeks as the camp still has to administer the high school camp with street kids and orphanes.
Praise God for His provision over us, the unity of our team, and the relations we have made with our brothers and sisters there. I cannot wait to see the future of Ufa, the camp, the lives of the children and to see the growth in our relationship with our family in Ufa.
Many Blessings,
Betty
