On their way…

The team is off, they left in the wee morning hours from San Francisco and are now well on their way to Russia and Ufa. Even in the final hours, the portion of the team coming from Grass Valley were met with last minute challenges but God’s sovereignty and divine will prevailed. Dan shared with us the night before they left that as he and his wife were on their way to church to drop Dan off for the drive to the bay area, the master cylinder on their vehicle went out. Dan had to quickly scramble some help from his local body to help care for his vehicle so as not to leave his wife and five boys stranded.

After that little crisis was squashed the team from Grass Valley hopped on their van and began their journey to the bay area. About ½ hour down the road Continue Reading »

dino1-300.jpgWe are eagerly awaiting our departure until Russia as we continue with last minute preparations and packing! We can not wait to see what the Lord has in store for us and for the rest of our team!
Here are a few pictures of us describing our excitement in a nut shell. Despite any anxiousness we may have, we are very giddy and excited for this amazing adventure.

As amazing as it has been to see God come through for each of us, we could not have been able to be where we are with out the support of our church body. The church and congregation has supported us financially in the funds needed for the trip, there have been some members of the congregation who have donated craft supplies which has helped us cut down on some of our expenses, and then there are so many who have been praying for us and encouraging us as we prepare for our trip. Thank you for all that you have done in teaming up with us for God’s work and His Glory. We truly go as an extension of everyone at CV First. Thank you and God Bless.

After many long months of knowing that I’m going to Russia this summer and then preparing to go to Russia…it’s finally here. I cannot begin to describe my excitement  that I have for this trip and my anticipation in seeing what God in going to do in me, as well as my fellow team members. I can begin to tell of the journey that He has brought me through to this point, though the journey isn’t over yet.

This past fall semester at Simpson as I was sitting in Chapel while all of the mission team leaders for the Summer and Spring Break Missions trips were making their presentations. As a Cross-Cultural Studies major, I was asking God out of the selection of trips that Simpson had to offer this year which one He wanted me to be a part of. Continue Reading »

As the day approaches for our departure for our trip to Russia, I reflect on the journey that has brought me here. These past few months have been filled with excitement, struggles, fear and laughter. This time has been a time of testing of my faith and relying on God for all physical and spiritual strength. There is no doubt that my growth in God has been stretched tremendously.

Despite all of the many spiritual battles that the three of us (Ilya, Jamie and myself) have encountered over this time, God has remained faithful and we have grown to rely in His strength and complete trust. Continue Reading »

The Team…Over Memorial Day weekend at the end of May, Betty, Ilya and I got the opportunity to meet the rest of our team members. The team consists of eleven people from four different churches including CV first. Though two of the team members, James and Jake, were unable to meet with us, it was so amazing to see how God has brought us all together perfectly on this trip for His purpose. Continue Reading »

Camp Property Along the Sim RiverLast year the Union of ECB was able to purchase a piece of property to be used as the children’s camp. It is only 60 km from

Ufa, a central location, on the bank of the SimRiver. This camp site will enable the churches of Bashkortostan to have summer camp, but will also allow them to develop “retreats” and other ministry opportunities to take place. Recently our Coalition Chairman Bud Haskell (GBC Hanford) and Duane Cashion (GBC Hollister) visited the camp. Here is what Bud reported… Continue Reading »
